In this time trial, 8 participants complete multiple runs – 3 attempts each are recommended. Only the single fastest time counts towards the ranking, while all slower runs are dropped. This keeps the format easy to understand and rewards the one perfect run rather than consistency across attempts. Unlike round-based formats, the 8 participants never face each other directly – everyone races against the clock on their own, and the ranking is based purely on the recorded best times.
Best-time scoring differs from the other time-trial variants purely in how the ranking is calculated. With 8 participants and 3 runs each, only the single fastest attempt counts – weak runs have no influence.

How long the time trial with 8 participants takes depends mainly on the number of parallel lanes and the run duration. The values show the pure running time for several attempts per participant – plan extra time for start intervals, timing and breaks.

It depends on the number of parallel lanes. With 8 participants and 3 runs each, the pure running time is around 3 h on 2 lanes and about 1 h 30 min on 4 lanes – each excluding start breaks.
If two participants share the same best time, the second-fastest time decides. If that is also equal, the lower number of attempts needed counts.
